The Nest Collective on ‘Decentralisation’ at Images Festival 2021!

Our very own Njoki, Sunny and JP will be taking part in the 2021 edition of the Images Festival, exploring this year’s theme which is ‘Decentralization as a Practice of Freedom’. The festival runs from 20th to 26th May, and will include online conversations, social media interventions and digital publications.

The Festival this year will include collectives and collective-like bodies who, like us, have been invited to deliver online interactive sessions on their practices and policies. Njoki, Sunny and JP will speak on how we as a collective have explored decentralisation as a practice, and how the process has been crucial to the making and release of our works, the pros and cons of working this way, and much more!

The collectives (including ourselves) also shared playlists composed of films, art, articles, entities and other engagements by other organisations that have inspired us in their own expression and implementation of decentralisation, both within and outside of the arts. Download our playlist here!

Register for the festival here, and join Njoki, Sunny and JP on Zoom, today, Thursday 20th May, from 7PM, for this audio-only interactive program!
